You are assuming it's a protected facility. A hospital loses its status as a protected facility as soon as it is being used as a military facility by any side according to international law. If Hamas has fighters or equipment in the hospital or better yet built a tunnel connected to the hospital then it's no longer a protected facility and the IDF has no obligation to treat it as such. In legal terms as long as Israel can prove they found Hamas fighters, equipment or tunnels connected then they are all in the clear of any wrong doing, you might claim it's morally wrong but according to international law it's all in order.

@progressiveprofits9376 You really love to twist the facts don't you. The phrase was adopted by the PLO in 1964, yet somehow you claim it was created by the Likud party which has used a similar phrase but that's in 1977, more than 10 years after the phrase was adopted by the PLO. Likud said "Judea and Samaria will not be handed to any foreign administration; between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty." in 1977. I am certain you are spreading misinformation on purpose now, a single google search is enough to find out you are just making things up as you go.

According to international law hospitals are not to be bombed or have its power shut off, however as soon as a hospital is being used as a military facility to house military personnel or equipment it loses its protection under international law and is a viable military target.

@ugcamige So we should not take what Hamas says with a grain of salt? LoL it sounds like you have your own bias there. You will probably feel better at home at Al Jazeera's YT channel.
3
You need to apply critical thinking to any form of information especially from mainstream media.

Sending money is expensive, words are free.

@mochithepooh5368 Considering all the big donors jumping ship on UNRWA it doesn't look good for them. Money will trickle into Israel regardless but it seems like the Gaza funding is looking increasingly unsure. The last thing Hamas wants is funding to get into Gaza from aid organizations with international staff that they cannot infiltrate. Worse yet the aid comes into Gaza in the form of food water and medicine and not money, that would spell an end to Hamas' biggest income.

That is up to you, isn't it? Who do you find the most credible?
1
They are professional victims they are just trying to make the US feel guilty so they can receive a huge foreign aid payment.
1
@pessimisticbengali265 As they should, they are US allies. They are the only friends and only democracy in the Middle East for the US. There are plenty of other countries that are "allies" but in reality they are just friendly because they want our $$$ or want to buy advanced weapons in reality they hate our guts because we are "infidels".
1
Israel is minding its own business though protecting its citizens and the US is an Israeli ally and it is their business to help their ally when theh get invaded
1
Because a major US ally is involved.

Yemen? Isnt there a civil war in Yemen and Houthis are the rebels?
1
@taliabraver Of course. Egypt hates the Muslim brotherhood and it's a terror org in Egypt. Hamas, in case you did not know, is a Branch of the Muslim brotherhood. The last thing Egypt wants is refugees who sympathizes with an org that they have spent decades trying to stamp out. Jordan doesn't want refugees from Palestine because they fought a bloody civil war with Palestinian refugees, they assassinated their PM and tried to assassinate the Jordanian king so they kicked them out. Kuwait kicked out all Palestinians after they sided and helped Saddam when he invaded Kuwait. Just a few examples, for most of the Arab nations it's kind of like they don't really care about Palestine but their own population would not allow them to support Israel openly so they support Palestine in words while making absolutely sure the Palestinians stay put and don't come into their country.
1
International law is pretty useless and is only applied when it serves the interest of all veto countries in the UN which is a very rare thing.
1
Donations are voluntary if you want to keep sending money to an org that's possibly compromised by a terrorist org you are free to do so. They won't be seeing the millions of dollars coming from my country until they get things in order though.
1
Hamas: How dare they rescue their own citizens we are holding as hostages that is not fair! Rest of the world: ............ dude....
1
Because blaming America is a very convenient way for leaders and politicians to deflect blame and put focus on a foreign enemy rather than their own political mistakes. Even if the US recognized Palestine they would still find a way to put the blame on the US somehow. They are professional victims, always somebody else's fault.
1
So Walmart is housing terrorist organizations under their Headquarters and providing them with free electricity? Didn't know that. interesting.
1
@gerri577 So it's international law that you need to accept Palestinians claims to a certain territory? There's a charter section for Palestinians specifically? Hardly likely, Palestinian state is not even recognized in my country along with 53 other countries. So basically 54 UN countries are breaking international law? you are full of bs lol.
1
It is a political stunt. You see how much SA sends to Gaza in humanitarian aid to unrwa? 100k that is it.
1
Polls are polls, a good pollster would tell you depending on how you frame the question you can get a predetermined result of your poll to fit certain narratives.
1
You never know Hamas fights in civilian clothing it's impossible to tell a fighter from a civilian. All they need to do is hide their weapon somewhere.
1
Would not worry about UNRWA they are going to have to downsize a lot, they are losing billions this year.
1
@TheLastRadical Well if they care about their children might want to take them out of the war zone. I think most normal parents would.
1
Most left wingers are up in arms only because they are the enemies of a US ally Israel. If they were fighting Egypt 99% would not care about them at all. Whatever makes the west weaker communists and marxists will support.
1
@marvinDozer It does not matter if it's right or wrong, UNRWA relies on nations and individual donating money voluntarily. It's their money and they don't need to provide a reason for withholding that money or sending it elsewhere. There are plenty of organizations out there that are far more deserving and trustworthy than UNRWA with international staff and a lot better transparency where the money is going to. UNRWA is not getting dismantle they will just have to downsize, as long as there is money going into UNRWA it will still operate in one form or the other.
1
And they are totally fine looking the other way pretending like nothing.
1
UNRWA fired staffers after the allegations so it's pretty credible that there are grounds for the allegations. Israel have accused UNRWA staffers plenty of times for years and years and nothing has ever happened then suddenly UNRWA just fires 12 employees. They are in panic mode, it's an absolute disaster for them.
1
@LifeMyFire If the hospital is being used as a facility to harbour insurgents it loses its protection under international law as it's now a legitimate military target.
1
Of course, Hamas purposely build tunnels under schools, hospitals and so forth. They would probably build a tunnel under their mother's home if they thought that would provide them more security.
