  1. Just as any battle between 2 rival super powers there is a propaganda war going on from both sides. I do agree with your overall point just like to add my thoughts to 2 of your points. Your first point about China being safe, yes and no. It's very safe walking down the street in pretty much any neighborhood even late night or early morning compared to America. Social media and free speech is where I would say no. You need to be very careful what you say in China as it could get you into a lot of problems. Sing part of the national anthem in a silly tone and you will have the police knocking at your door (yes this actually happened to a famous Chinese social media figure). You noticed all these FB posts and tweets about Trump being an idiot? Yeah please don't try that in China about the Chinese president you will regret it. There are so many topics, people and opinions you simply should stay clear off in China that might get you arrested. You won't get robbed on the street but post that innocent tweet about Taiwan and you might be up for a visit to the police station. Your second point about elected officials only answering to cash and corporations YES I agree. China is not much better though president Xi's anti corruption campaign is up to 1.3 MILLION government officials in prison on corruption charges - I think it's safe to assume there is corruption at government level wherever you go unfortunately. Like I said I do agree with your overall point, I'd say just let China keep whatever political system they so desire. If they want to change it then it's their responsibility to do so we should not interfere in regime changes in other countries. Whatever you say about the Chinese system you can't deny it has many advantages and as an emerging super power they must be doing something right.
