Well lets be fair lets not pretend any of us here knows what poverty is really like. The real people in poverty does not have internet access let alone a phone or a computer. They certainly dont have time to follow twitch streamer takes thats for sure.

@WIKI Didn't he just say it's socially draining to talk to people all day long and comparing it to working in retail or service where you need to talk to customers all day? I don't know how you turned that into streaming is harder than being a doctor or that streaming is hard. Seems like you have some steam built up and need to get it off your chest, I didn't really feel like he was trying to take anything away from the average 9-5 guy. Then again I watched the whole context not just a 10 second clip so... and I don't even like Hasan I'd be the first one to call him out lol.

No the average streamer is small time and taking a 3 month mental break will kill 90% of streamers careers. Also if you take a 3 month break you will not get paid for 3 months. You think a streamer with 300 viewers can do that? Your argument is only based off the very top 0.1% of the streamers and then you apply it for all streamers. The average streamer is not going to retire at 30 man lol if that was the case everyone would be streaming. It's all just a matter of privilege and perspective and yes Hasan and Asmongold are very well off sure but they are not average streamers. If you really think it's that easy and you can get millions and retire at 30 then why don't you start streaming then? Who would not want easy millions and retire at 30?

That is not streamer privilege though thats just having money. If you are a millionaire you can take leave off your regular job aswell or just quit for a month chill and find something else. The average streamer wont make it by taking days off as they please.
5
Soooo... You are not allowed to compare your job with someone that earns less than you?
5
Very few streams change anything, it is all entertainment at the end of the day.
5
Why do you tune into a stream expecting life advice? you are actually surprised to realize you don't agree with an entertainer that's probably a millionaire? Shocking.

I never understood how people get so fixated ovee twitch or twitter dramas and celebrity/streamer personalities. Am I the only one watching streamers for entertainment? Why so serious?

It is all about perspectives when I went to work in China I realized very few jobs in the west are hard. I would just be shocked at the work culture there. I worked in tech and a lot of them did 996. 996 means you work 9 am - 9 pm 6 days a week. You think 9-5 is hard? Go to Asia and you will see haha.
3
Who cares? You go to a doctor to get a knee checked out you don't want to hear him tell you a story about how hard his job is you want to know what's up with your knee. We watch Asmon for entertainment, who cares about if he thinks streaming is hard or easy? Only thing that matters is if he's a good entertainer or not. If he is good then people will forget and move on to the new twitch/twitter drama.
3
You didn't really watch the whole take then, it was actually streaming is very socially draining compared to other jobs. Not harder.

@ScarecrowJames I think the problem is when people are tuning into streams to "relate" or get "insights", streamers are entertainers. That would be like going to the butcher with your medical problem, you are at the wrong place if you are trying to relate to millionaires having takes on X/Y/Z. Unless of course you are a millionaire yourself. Streamers are entertainers if you expect anything else you will only be dissapointed.

Most Western jobs are in the service sector and could be done at home over zoom. While there are still real jobs out there most factories have moved overseas. Majority of people in the west do not have manual labor intensive jobs anymore.
2
Just like Asmon says plenty of times about other professions. I like Asmongold but I watch him for entertainment, I could not care less what his personal take is on the newest twitch drama that will be forgotten in 2 days. So you disagree with his take so what? You expect a streamer to educate you and having correct takes on every topic out there? The guy is an entertainer, nothing more nothing less. You dont go to entertainers for medical or political advice, do you? You expect too much.

I am a little bit confused, I have been living in China for 7 years and played WOW on EU W, Oceanic and Taiwan servers. It's totally fine to access Wow outside China without a VPN I am not sure why it's comes out as necessary from the forum post. You just use a VPN to lower the latency and when it comes to the Taiwan servers I was usually playing without a VPN. With a VPN I would have 80ms without 100ms. Not a big difference really.

So basically he didnt pick the same side as you in this newest edition of twitch drama? Honestly who cares what Hasan said. Just like all twitter or twitch dramas this will be forgotten in a week.
2
I think that is universal man :)
2
Oh no he defendes Hasan? Can't do that man he is in big trouble now haha. At least for 3 days until everyone is onto the newest drama instead.

It's not a big issue. I teach in China and the majority of my students have facebook and access to youtube and they display it freely. Nobody reports you for VPN and even if they did the Chinese police does not have time to chase hundreds of millions of people for a minor offense.

As someone that has worked with both Manual labor and in the service/retail section I see what he means though. Talking to people 8 hours a day is draining in another way. When I was doing manual labor I was hoping for a job where I could use my mind more. When I got a job in the service sector I started to miss the manual labor where you could just shut off your brain and dont give a crap about other peoples problem and just do your thing. The best job I had was a combination, half day manual labor half day problem solving and dealing with clients.

@traphimawari7760 Bad take, socially draining has very little to do with you being your own boss setting your own schedule. That's more about working conditions than anything else. It's about dealing with people. I work a regular job and I can decide to go on an hourly contract and only work 8 hours a week if I want to. Obviously I won't because I will only get paid for the hours I work. Also about the average individual working 9-5 tending to smoke and drink excessive alcohol? No, in most cases alcohol and smoking is a you problem that will continue and start regardless if you are employed or not.

Of course they will say that when they lost, blame game has begun.

@spk1121 Yep sure but he does have the experience of what it's like grinding to get into the position where he choose to take breaks. It's not like he started streaming yesterday and got 20k regular viewers over night. Everyone that's rich has flexibility in their work hours, any millionaire could stop working and be fine for a very long time unless they have really bad spending habits.
