  1. I am a little bit confused, I have been living in China for 7 years and played WOW on EU W, Oceanic and Taiwan servers. It's totally fine to access Wow outside China without a VPN I am not sure why it's comes out as necessary from the forum post. You just use a VPN to lower the latency and when it comes to the Taiwan servers I was usually playing without a VPN. With a VPN I would have 80ms without 100ms. Not a big difference really.

  2. It's not a big issue. I teach in China and the majority of my students have facebook and access to youtube and they display it freely. Nobody reports you for VPN and even if they did the Chinese police does not have time to chase hundreds of millions of people for a minor offense.
