@ramsankar.p2256 They are volunteers, how about you check up volunteers in the dictionary. If they do not wish to go to the frontlines they can simply quit and leave. They are there by their own free will, they volunteered.

You can't compare. In your country you have time to properly train and your army can pick and chose who gets sent to the combat zone. Ukraine is under attack and by the time those men would finish the same basic training as you did Kyiv might already be in Russian hands. It might sound harsh but you cannot compare being trained and prepared to be sent half across the world to fight and to having to fight in your own backyard. National defence is a whole different story and time is a resource in a whole different way than being sent to fight on foreign soil.

@eileenmcconnell8420 You are talking about a country that does not even make the top 40 list in terms of military spending against a military within the top 5. That they are still holding on is miracle in itself. On paper they should have lost within weeks.

It's an all out war in defence of their country, you fight with what you have this is not some operation on the other side of the world where you can pick and chose who gets sent.

Why not? It's been months and RUssia has like 7-10% territory. The longer this goes on the more equipment Ukraine gets. It's not too far fetched they might grab the W. Time is on their side.

@JohnCSmith-lp1qr Saving Russian lives, yes. Now why would we want to do that?
1
@Silver_Prussian What do you mean wage war? It's still a special operation in Russia - didn't you follow your own governments news show or had any training before you were sent to go troll for Russia on youtube? Also you do know that the USSR got stuck in an insurgency in Afghanistan too, right? It was one of the reasons why the USSR collapsed.

@dezzjays9568 Fighting the whole of NATO LOL? They are not don't be ridiculous, NATO is not part of this war. They are providing aid in terms of equipment. That is it. The Ukrainian army is around 200.000 if NATO was involved that number would be millions.
1
@Silver_Prussian Why are you calling others simpletons when you cannot even use English properly?
1
@Scaleyback317 TO be fair they are in a much better position now than they were a few months ago when Kyiv was getting surrounded.

Who knows maybe he is implying Russia won't be there for very long... you know... Kabooom.
1
WHAT, Soldiers being executed in times of war for disobedience and desertion?!?!?! Say it ain't so this must be the first time in history this has ever happened wooooow.
1
@MmmM-uo6ti Nah they die for their country, they would rather die than become Russians.
1
@Silver_Prussian USSR was kicked out of Afghanistan by an insurgency too you know? What the Russians will do is irrelevant, they occupy what, 10% so far after 4 months? They are not capable of taking the country anyway so no need for them to worry about insurgency they will be kicked out soon anyway.

@corneliuscapitalinus845 A democracy that has been voicing their willingness to join the EU? They want to be part of the European community and they are a democracy. Russia does not want to be part of the European community and they are a dictatorship. Helping a democracy keeping their independence on the borders of the EU against Europe's historical enemy which also happens to be a dictatorship? You do know that the EU and US don't agree 100% of what the support should contain but they all agree that we should support Ukraine. The Ukraine war has united the EU and NATO like nothing ever has before. Some countries were even wondering if they need NATO or EU now everyone in the unions are committed and united.

Russia was already defeated when Putin took control and put all his personal friends with no relevant experience into high government positions, including the army. Shop owner today, general tomorrow. And they wonder why the Russian army cannot advance more than 10% of Ukrainian territory after 4 months.

@martinsmith9054 Call Zelensky and ask him to recruit you as a general.

@eileenmcconnell8420 Ukraine is Ukraine, it was there before Russia and it will be there after the Russians are kicked out. If we're talking about history of the Ukrainian civilization it is a lot older than the Moscow based Russian origins. Kyiv was founded 482 while Moscow was founded 1147. As much as Russians like to think Ukrainians are Russians and should forcefully be integrated into Russia they are not Russian. A lot of them can speak Russian but there is still a huge difference between the two. Crimea has a large Russian speaking Ukrainian population. They DID NOT have Russian citizenship before the illegal occupation and pretending they are Russian is just propaganda, they had no choice what were they supposed to do? Tanks and soldiers with heavy weaponry coming in taking over.

@AB-gj6id Boris was not removed, he resigned. The reason is not Ukraine the guy was drinking alcohol and partying when everyone was ordered to lockdown at home.

@unnamedshadow1866 Russian soldiers don't have to worry about dying for their country they are dying for Putin.
