@amjidali588 There's still an additional 1200 that have been accused it will take time to go through all of them. But that's okay let the UNRWA take their time 17 countries have already withdrawn their funding until they finish their investigation and until then they will not get any money from them. Not some small fish either most of those 17 countries are part of the top 20 donors so we're talking billions of dollars here. Let them take their time, I am sure the people living in those countries would rather use that money for themselves instead of wasting them on Gaza.

Scotland is not even among the top 50 donors but yeah I am sure their contribution will make up for the billions lost by the others leaving.

@Mogwai786 UNRWA has already terminated 12 of its staff due to their links to Hamas and some of them were involved with or celebrated what happened on Oct 7th. So obviously they themselves realized they messed up and looking the other way doesn't work now that the cat is out of the bag. The west is not going to throw money into the hands of terrorists, it's a shame yet again the actions of Hamas will affect the civilians in Gaza negatively. I cannot see how UNRWA will recover from this without a major reconstruction will probably have to terminate all staff and rebuild from the ground up before any serious state considers donating funds to them again. We are talking Billions of dollars that won't reach Gaza anymore, if you want to blame anyone blame Hamas for infiltrating the organization.

@tayibahussain Why would the UK government support Gaza though, it's on the other side of the world and has nothing to do with them. I get that you have an issue, your name kinda gives it away I don't see how the average UK citizen would care about what happens in Gaza though. If the UK had troops in the area and were involved in the conflict sure but as it is now? Nah.

@tc6817 Sweden too, the list keeps growing.

Because they don't want to help the Palestinians they just assume the west will fund everything and at the same time they point the finger on us saying we are the bad guys.

The UNRWA has already fired them and according to them that is enough which shows they are already compromised.

UNRWA has fired 12 of their staff already and another 1200 are under investigation which seems to indicate at least some of the allegations were true. It looks like it will be a long investigation.

They should have kept Hamas sympathizers clear of the organization then, you cannot expect western nations to dump money into organizations compromised by Hamas. Maybe Muslim nations won't mind but western nations certainly will mind.

It's not about making moral judgements, it's their money - they have every right to decide where to send that money. If they don't like what they see in UNRWA they are totally fine to send that money to another charity OR better yet spend that money to better the lives of their own citizens.
