  1. That's usually what happens when you have the same small elite sitting on power for that long, all the money gained by the state goes into their pockets instead of back to the people. And yes them being religious fanatics doesn't help either - just making things worse.

  3.  @kevinmcelligott8573  Iran does not have Russia, China or Turkey. There is no way those nations will put their neck out for Iran, they will not die on that hill. Iran just is not worth it, very small economy. Yeah maybe they will make statements but you really thing China will risk US and western sanctions by putting troops out there or send military aid to Iran - really? They will support Iran with words, that's it.
