@Rebel-cd6gc You do know that Turkeys complaints are about Swedish ties to YPG, a group which the American government has deeper ties with, right?
4
There is a difference between having concerns and actually invading a country, did Erdogan invade Sweden and Finland? No, not really they are sitting down and talking about things. You cannot compare that to Russia.

The WHO regrets the announcement that the US wont pay the bills for the corrypt officials at the WHO

You know what he means, is it such a big deal you are going to cry about it?

@67rdd Didn't Turkey attack Greece in Cyprus and NATO did nothing or did I misunderstand that part of history? I think that was 1974 and Greece left NATO after that to re-join later. (I might be wrong)
2
@egelisk4943 They won't leave Turkey relies on NATO and NATO relies on Turkey, in terms of military power and strategic position Turkey is a very good addition and Turkey needs NATO weapons and military assistance if Russia should encroach on Turkish borders. Not a match made in heaven but it's a convenient one for both parties.

@angus7278 Who cares go look for free stuff somewhere else. Not our fight nor is it our problem.

@abadairshi America and the UK have already given both countries security guarantees and so will Denmark and Norway soon. Looks like the individual NATO countries will make their separate security guarantees with Sweden and Finland no matter if Turkey let's them in or not which is great. It's a win-win for both sides, Turkey are not happy about Sweden and Finland and I am pretty sure our governments are more interested in protection and co-operation with our friends in the EU and US without having to be involved in Turkey's wars.

It's always better to act diplomatically in front of the cameras and fix the sensitive issues behind closed doors.

@_Redronin_ You are wrong to call the people that Erdogan wants Sweden and Finland to extradite criminals. The reason why Sweden and Finland cannot extradite these individuals is because of our laws. You cannot extradite someone to a country unless they are proven to have committed a crime that is also considered a crime in Finland and Sweden. If there are proof that they have committed terrorist activities it needs to go through a Swedish or Finish court to determine if they are guilty or not then and ONLY then can extradition be considered. There are laws concerning this and we cannot just extradite someone because Erdogan says "Trust me br0". So yes long story short they are not criminals Turkey has alleged they are but without proof and going through the Swedish or Finish court system they are not considered Criminals. That's how things work here there are laws in place and the Turkish delegation are free to report the crime and supply the evidence to the Swedish police if they wish just like all other nations that want individuals extradited.
1
@emresahin4040 I am talking about Swedish laws here, and yes I am pretty sure I know more about Swedish laws than you (I am Swedish myself). Of course I respect Turkish laws you are free to do whatever you want and if I go visit Turkey I will follow them. But these laws only applies to what's going on inside Turkey these are not international laws. If Erdogan and the Turkish government wants the individuals extradited that is no problem they can apply for it I have no problem with that. But as with every nation that applies for extradition it needs to be according to Swedish laws and Swedish laws does not allow for extradition without a criminal charge that can be proven and upheld in a Swedish court. If the Turkish government can send over photos, videos etc to prove that these guys were involved in terrorist activities then yes, they will be extradited. Right now all that Erdogan gave the Swedish government was a list, no proof, just names. Swedish law does not allow our government to extradite individuals just because a nation's leader tells us too. It must stand up in court and it needs evidence. About NATO I am pretty sure I did not say anything that Turkey should be kicked out, did I?

@The_Green. It has nothing to do with being Muslims the problem with Turkey is not Turkey it's Erdogan. The EU refusal and the NATO arms embargo on Turkey is a direct result of Erdogan's policies. Just because Turkey has bad relations with the EU nations doesn't mean it will always be like this. A new leader and new policies will fix most of Turkey's foreign relations issues. It could also make it worse I suppose but I know many Turks and they are just like everyone else and not all of them agrees with Erdogan's policies (especially the Turks that have fled Turkey).
1
@egelisk4943 Turkey is not a part of the EU because they don't meet the standards set out for joining the EU. Their Human rights records, lack of freedom of speech, weak democratic institutions etc. There is nothing in the EU that says it does not accept Muslim countries. As for the arms embargo it's only on Turkey so that part is not about Muslims either. The EU has taken in many Muslim refugees if they seriously were some kind of secret anti-Muslim organization why are they allowing Muslims to come and let EU countries put Muslims on minister positions in their governments? It makes little sense, most of the EU nations are not even Christians they are Atheists and Agnostics. These are secular countries you are talking about you make it sound like Christianity is a big deal in Europe, it's not.
1
@abadairshi It's irrelevant what Germany thinks about Turkey it did not even get to a vote or a discussion because Turkey does not even meet the basic Criteria for joining. Once they reached all the Criteria then it's the time for objections but right now they cannot even pass the basics so until they do there is no way to know who is for and who is against. Greece has no influence over the EU criteria and they didn't block anything, Turkey needs to sort out many things, human rights, democratic institutions, basic freedoms such as free speech, oppression of religious minorities, border disputes etc. It's a long list, Greece doesn't need to block them because they cannot even get to the point where someone can block them. They need to pass the Criteria first before Greece even has the opportunity to block them.
1
@abadairshi That's an exaggeration Turkish polls put Erdogan at around 30% for the upcoming election in Polls at the moment, that hardly sounds like "all Turks" support him.
1
@ilkerturk1997 Then why are they already included in the defence network as honorary members and conduct joint military exercises with NATO already?
1
@blackcoffee. Must be hard to hate the west so much yet you and your fellow brothers and sisters come to us hat in hand, you hate us but you beg us for money.
1
@egelisk4943 UK and US have given security guarantees to Sweden and Finland. Also Norway and Denmark are talking about it. Even if Turkey denies Sweden it looks like they will have a defensive alliance with the other NATO members individually. Which would be great we're looking for military co-operation with our EU friends and the Americans. That would be great Turkey doesn't need to assist us and we don't need to assist them. To be totally honest though I know the EU has a reputation that they don't really like Turkey that much but I think it's just Erdogan. One day Erdogan will be gone and hopefully we can have a closer co-operation with Turkey and they will be allowed to join the EU.

@VeganSteve711 Funny how the people crying about the village have nothing to do with it. The villagers are all happy the company paid them twice the price of their homes.
1
@egelisk4943 I think you mean YPG, PKK is a terrorist org in the Netherlands.
1
@egelisk4943 I know and understand it's complicated but I was under the impression that the Greeks had 2000 soldiers from their army stationed in Cyprus to aid the Greek friendly government that was formed there so even it was not recognized it was still a war fought between Turkey and Greece. was it not?
1
@egelisk4943 Must have been something else then Greece has been a member of NATO since 1952, I know they withdrew from NATO command after the war in 1974 because NATO did not assist them.
1
@egelisk4943 Turkey has stated that BOTH Finland AND Sweden supports terrorist groups. They have been very clear that they object both countries.
1
@egelisk4943 Sweden has no contacts with PKK as with YPG we do send aid to them in Syria as do every EU country and the US, YPG are not a terrorist organization according to the EU and US. I find it pretty funny you ask about ISIS and Al-Qaeda, the reason we support YPG is because they fight against these two organizations so no, we don't support ISIS and Al-Qaeda actually we support their enemies. As for Turkey you guys support Hamas, Al-Nusra and Muslim Brotherhood so it's not like your government have clean hands either.
