@finnfigure Slave trade was prevalent in Africa long before the British ever set foot there and the people providing the slaves to be sold to the Europeans were mostly Africans themselves. Actually Britain and America were in the forefront of ending the slave trade even stopping African leaders from continuing with the slave trade with Arab nations once the transatlantic trade was forbidden. So yeah blame the British but let's forget about the African leaders occupied with slave trade long before they met the British and long after the British had stopped their involvement in the African slave trade. But well I guess if you want to try to erase history by toppling statues and burning history books go for it, what's the worst that could happen.

@finnfigure I never tried to justify anything just kindly reminding you that slave trade has been around long before american or brittish involvement. Does it justify their actions? No but they did tap in to a well establlished market that continued to be around in africa even as it was outlawed in the west. If you feel like burning stone sculptures is going to change anything obviously go ahead just don't get surprised if there are consequences if you happen to get caught doing so. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
