The weak will conquer the strong, that is why China managed to get so big as they were stronger than their neighbors during it's early history conquering them. Come the modern times they were just unfortunate enough to run into the Europeans which were far superior militarily. Were it the other way around I am pretty sure they would have no problem conquering parts of Europe themselves would they had the chance to.

  6. The Ottomans spent hundreds of years trying to conquer Europe, it is not as if they were not interested it is just from the 1600s and onward the European nations were vastly superior. It is not like the Islamic conquest stopped because a lack of interest, they simply could not compete with the Europeans anymore after the golden days of the Ottoman Empire came to an end. The reason why the European powers colonized Africa and Middle East is because it was basically free land, they were so far ahead they could take it easily. If the roles were reversed the Islamic nations would have done the same to Europe if they could.
