@nobodyspecial4702 According to them plenty of places are supposed to be under water already they just hope we forget about their claims about the Maldives being underwater before 2015 and New York under water by 2013.

@AliciaOnlineGameplay We also had a mini ice age 500 years ago or so, weather does change naturally it's very hard to tie it to individual factors.

Well according to Al Gore New York would be under water 10 years ago. Throughout human history there has always been doomsday sayers.

Wow, scientists and politicians being wrong what a surprise? I still remember in the 1970s when people were saying we are going to have an ice age by 2000 because the weather had been getting colder 10 years in a row. Now suddenly it starts getting warmer and people are assuming we're going the other way. Perhaps in another 10 years it starts to get cooler again and people will go back to predict the next ice age again. I also remember the UK PM saying we have 50 days to save the planet from climate disaster... that was 2009. Anyway cry wolf too many times and people will eventually stop listening to you.

In the 1970s people were talking about an ice age in the 2000s, why? Because the temperature had been getting colder for the last 30 years. Now we're getting hotter and everyone thinks we're going to get draughts and melting glaciers. Don't worry too much about it in 10 years it will start getting colder again and you can worry about ice ages again.

@nobodyspecial4702 Also the fact that the weather had steadily been getting colder between 1950s and the 1970s. I think mostly it's the younger generation that are worried, the older generation and the students of history knows politicians and scientists have made predictions about places like New York, Maldives and Miami being underwater several times since the late 1970s/ early 1980s constantly shooting the predictions further into the future when they realize it won't come true. Now US Politicians are telling us the world is going to end in 8 years if we don't do what they say. In 10 or 20 years what's to say scientists and politicians won't talk about some new "threat" like well you know the studies in this area was still in it's infancy during the 2020s so that's why we were totally wrong but this time it's true! They may very well be correct this time but when you cry wolf so many times the people that have heard the cries for wolves multiple times already are not going to take you very seriously.

Man according to people like Al Gore New York was supposed to be underwater 10 years ago. I think most people are just tired of hearing we're going to be underwater or we're all doomed having different dates constantly changing their timeframe to the future. When you cry wolf so many times people eventually stop listening. Also doesn't help that people like Obama constantly talking about Climate change and rising sea levels when the guy goes around buying up beach property lol.
