Yasuhiro Sonoda drank it in 2011. Japanese PM. Guess you should at least do a simple google search will save everyone time.

why should they though? It's all politics nothing else.

@nevermore4280 Canada has sanctions against Iran so yes it is a crime in Canada, I am not sure what you are smoking. Why do you get so upset, the Chinese government arrests foreigners all the time without giving a reason or excuse - I don't hear you complaining about that lol.

Basic chemistry keyword: Dilution. Many things are dangerous in concentrated form but fine when it's diluted.

It's just politics. nothing else.

They do but it's not Okay when someone else does it.

@alexliao-s5x yeah "free media is a joke" it's much better with controlled media, let one guy control ALL media - what could possibly go wrong?

80 percent of all plastics found in the ocean comes from Asia, the biggest polluters of the planet are crying about dirty water lol. It's okay when you do it but when someone else does it's time to cry.

Crimes against humanity? LOL that's a new one. I think you could just call it polluting the ocean, something pretty much every country does already. I guess we can welcome Japan to the club.

Greenpeace? The same organization that says cows farting is a big threat? Oh wow I am so worried right now. LOL.

The WHO and WEF does not set the rules, even if they said it's bad Japan could do whatever they want. It's like when the UN tells Russia to stop invading Ukraine, nobody listens to these organisations anyway they have no power.

You know 80 percent of all plastics found in the ocean comes from Asia right? They are already dumping everything they got in the ocean, what's going to stop them to dump even more? The biggest polluters of the world crying someone else is making a mess for once. Funny.

Why? Scientists says it's safe to release it? Why should the Japanese ignore the scientists because China has political issues?

@0887x Of course they can it's called an extradition treaty/agreement. The US claims she violated the Iran sanctions - I would not worry too much, the juridical system in the US is unlike China, independent from the government. If she did nothing wrong then she will be cleared in court, no problem. She is only in trouble if she actually did something illegal.
1
@cc7942 LOOOL, well if you compare it to China then most countries has a pretty independent juridical system I guess... Fair point.

Darlene Sjostrom The judge who is going to decide the outcome will not care about feelings though - most likely he or she will be interested in facts that can prove if she committed a crime or not. Canada has economic sanctions against Iran in place as well so it is illegal in both countries, even if they didn't exceptions do happen from time to time depending on the relationship between the countries that are extraditing an individual. I understand this incident has put Canada in a tough spot but the law is the law it's supposed to be blind - it doesn't matter if you are a billionaire, homeless, police officer so forth. If you are found guilty in a court of law then you will be punished regardless of position or social status, that's how it's supposed to work anyway.
1
Darlene Sjostrom Of course it comes into play. IF there is no evidence and a "lack of crime" then it's obviously 100% politically motivated and should be refused. If there however is strong evidence that suggests she did in fact commit a crime then it will be just like any other extradition between Canada and the US. In any case I think she is lucky she got arrested in a country with independent courts unlike the Canadians that were arrested in China. She is out on bail in her own house while they could very well be put through torture for all we know.

Japan vs China. Nobody else cares tbh.
