Darlene Sjostrom The judge who is going to decide the outcome will not care about feelings though - most likely he or she will be interested in facts that can prove if she committed a crime or not. Canada has economic sanctions against Iran in place as well so it is illegal in both countries, even if they didn't exceptions do happen from time to time depending on the relationship between the countries that are extraditing an individual. I understand this incident has put Canada in a tough spot but the law is the law it's supposed to be blind - it doesn't matter if you are a billionaire, homeless, police officer so forth. If you are found guilty in a court of law then you will be punished regardless of position or social status, that's how it's supposed to work anyway.

Darlene Sjostrom Of course it comes into play. IF there is no evidence and a "lack of crime" then it's obviously 100% politically motivated and should be refused. If there however is strong evidence that suggests she did in fact commit a crime then it will be just like any other extradition between Canada and the US. In any case I think she is lucky she got arrested in a country with independent courts unlike the Canadians that were arrested in China. She is out on bail in her own house while they could very well be put through torture for all we know.
