It's okay to be confused, it's called democracy, freedom, liberty, free speech we all know these are things that will very much confused Chinese because they have never experienced it before. Don't worry after spending some time outside China with non-Chinese people you will understand it one day.

The difference is that the U.S won't give people life sentences simply for protesting, imagine if the US would jail people for life for protesting against Trump? Half the American population would get a life sentence. Call Xi jing ping an idiot and make a protest in China... well let's just say you will disappear. It is not the same when the US goes by the rule of law and China whatever Emperor Xi's mood of the day is.

Well unfortunately the CCP censorship can't do anything about foreigners using their freedom of speech on a free platform (youtube). The reason people are making a fuss about HK is because nobody really likes China anymore so you better get used to videos and comments like this, anti-China sentiment is very high these days because of the virus.

@stpuwl468 They care because China made an international ratified agreement to keep HK autonomy until 2047 and not force laws upon it. 1 Country 2 systems, ring a bell? I guess that is all over now, 1 country 1 system is the new thing.

@coolfhlw Oh look at that another person that doesn't understand the concept of free speech. Don't worry I know many Chinese people that doesn't understand the concept. They think when somebody disagrees with them or get angry at what they said it means you have no freedom of speech. Obviously free speech doesn't mean that everyone has to like it. If I tell a stranger that he is fat and he shoots, punches or kicks me that doesn't mean that freedom of speech doesn't exist. Just because you have freedom of speech doesn't mean everyone has to agree and like what you say. Of course if you insult somebody they won't be happy about it that has nothing to do with freedom of speech. I don't know how old you are these are things we learn when we are kids in school so I will just assume you grew up in a country without freedom of speech. May I suggest you take a university course in political science, it might give you some new knowledge into the matter?

@wf645 If they did then all the BML supporters would be in jail with a life sentence. Nice try though.

@wf645 Ohh yeah of course all the million HKers on the streets were CIA damn it must have cost a lot to fly them all over there. Yes I see it now we need to crack down on that stuff, the CIA is behind the floodings and the Swine flu and they are probably behind the 600 million Chinese earning less than 140 dollars a month. Man why won't they leave China alone! better ban Santa too while we are at it he is working for the CIA for sure. What has HK to do with the west? Oh I don't know perhaps the fact that the UK signed an agreement with China not to do something like this until HK autonomy expires at 2047, just a guess?

@wf645 Why don't they just let HK natives vote about it then, you want to belong to China or not? I am pretty sure we all know who they prefer.
