@normalmighty "and we also hid the setting to disable it 17 menus deep in a crappy windows xp ui that requires you turn on permissions in a separate place 20 menus deep. Godspeed!"

Thanks for this man, appreciate it. From a hopefully soon to be intern trying not to die out here lol

@givememyfishback because i can build a prototype for almost anything that will read like english and then compile that to an exe in C or rebuild it with a working model to reference in something like go. And thats if its actually slow, most of the time its more than fast enough and when it isnt, its because your using the built in features wrong, or not using the right ones for the right jobs

For sure dude, if you want tips as well feel free to ask, i recommend the wizard book to get you started (structure of computer programs)

1
@depafrom5277 huh? The first that happened when I got a job was transition to Linux, the only things windows is good at is office bloatware and other time wasting exercises for corporate people

@ohmyv3gatron I am and it sucks

@laughingvampire7555 mid. Vim wiki for the win, forget the emacs weenies
1
@SoMadCoffee I like go better anyway to be honest
1
@pettahify I care about time more than money, I'd rather spend the money and put that time somewhere else personally
1
Me who made my own editor with the best of emacs, vim, and kakoune, with none of the bloat: "Look what they have to do to mimic a fraction if our power"

@yellingintothewind brilliant responses friend, I learned a ton from reading your replies. It sucks things get deleted but what remained is invaluable 🙏

@vitalyl1327 topics beyond their comprehension? forget something as advanced as cs, you cant understand something as basic as rhetoric and communication. you dont actually want to teach or elucidate information, because if you did youd be an idiot for doing so in an abrasive and alienating way, and anything else is frankly worthless because they dont care about your opinion, and you dont care about theirs. pointless whining for what end, so you can pretend to be a real smort guy to nobodies on the internet? i hope to snap you out of the nonsense and for other people to learn from this hubris at the very least, what is your aim exactly?
1
@infinitelink could you elaborate a bit? Like where do i learn to do this
1
@PwrXenon unlike rust, some offshoot c++ "replacement" lol
1
@vitluk frankly, its not the same. vim and vi are on almost every machine, i can ssh into a server and it doesnt matter if i dont have install permissions, it has what i need. i use vim/vi with nearly no config at all, my .vimrc is less than 30 lines. helix is a bunch of bloated crap i never wanted, that doesnt run in the places i need it to anyway lol.
