its in the standard library and many other places. as with anything, learn where to use it and where not too, and follow the one rule: dont be dogmatic, there are no real rules

@MichaelGrantPhD say what, that there are no real rules? Almost every rule has exclusions and exceptions, ever statistic has outliers, every part of life is full of suprises (and where it isn't, that fact is what's surprising 😜)

@obinnaeke9663 all fine examples. I use exec in a script on my machine that Noone will ever run but me, and if they do then they could've done far worse anyway cause they had direct access lol. It's always best to avoid being dogmatic. As the op says, try to avoid user input though

@akasakasvault7597 did I say not to do that somewhere? That was one of the first things I learned about it. I'm simply saying that if Raymond hettinger says it's cool, builds the named tuple with it, and the plethora of amazing coders working on the standard library see no problem with it, it probably means there's some valid use cases lol
