  1. I’ve toured this house several times and it’s worth seeing again. While some pieces were gifted to the Peter’s from the Washingtons, the vast majority of Washington pieces were purchased at a private auction held among Martha Washingtons heirs after her death in 1802. Its difficult to choose a favorite room in this remarkable house.
