  1.  @huntjl88  Abolition of slavery was a contant subject of debate in the US Congress before the Civl War. The War was started when shot were fired at Ft. Sumpter, south Carolina and SC stated that it was leaving the Union because of the North's hostility to the institution of slavery. It could not be clearer
