This is true, not a joke. Years ago he was the "Roastee" of a TV roast program. I think it was on Playboy TV. The host asked him "Is anything off limits? Like your hairdo, divorces, etc?" Trump said "No one can ask any question challenging my wealth." Strange response at the time, when people actually believed he was very wealthy. Now we know why. All smoke, mirrors and debt. Gold paint, not real gold.

@Hope...M Someone has to make up the difference when one person in a group doesn't contribute. The less you pay in the more I have to pay.

@tjroelsma The Forbes test and the measure used by almost everyone who describes wealth is "net worth" which means subtracting debts from assets.

@claudiolopez5776 If someone is running for public office and they say they are "under audit" that's even more reason to see what they are up to.

@CostarPelotheri In 2016 Trump said he was very very wealthy so his campaign would be entirely self-funding. He wouldn't owe favors to anyone. He put $10M into his campaign fund. Then he solicited contributions from the public. Among others, Sheldon Adelson contributed $20M on condition that Trump move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Robert Mercer gave $15M. Once the funds came in Trump changed his filing with the FEC to say his $10M was a "loan", then he paid himself back. He never contributed a cent to the 2016 campaign. Billionaires do not have "idle" cash but they have securities readily convertible to cash by sale or loan. Trump had neither. He has interests in properties but they are all hocked up to the max. His credit card from Capital One is probably maxxed out too. It seems clear that he supports himself on charity from his donors, not any income from business.
