  1. The city has been through this before. Crime in the 70's was bad. Crack was big in the 90's. Lots of muggings. Crime-free NYC is a relatively new concept. But it's always been the place for creative energy. It's not for everyone. Never has been.

  2.  @PinoyAbnoy  We used to have fun shopping in all the great department stores. No more. We buy almost everything online. the restaurants and museums are still a big draw. So is Lincoln Center. Some people still love live plays on Broadway.

  3.  @alexanderfooy723  It's always been jealousy. The people who are content to live in Buttown USA are always the ones who think NYC is the worst place. The ambitious ones leave Buttown and come to NYC to make something of themselves. Not everyone is ambitious and that's OK but don't hate the people who come to a place like NYC to better themselves in some way.
