  2. We called them Greek Coffee Shops. Open all hours, huge menus, fast service. Try Madison Restaurant on 1st Ave and 53rd or Sutton Restaurant on 1st and 56th to see what it was like. They both have excellent food.

  3.  @xavierpoes4985  That's Pershing Sq in front of Grand Central. They are definitely dying out. Greek-Americans have better opportunities now. Those coffee places started in the early 70's I believe.

  4. No way something would catch fire. They are not hot enough. I think the difference with baseboard is that it works on hot water. These radiators work on steam. Sometimes there is boiler in the basement. Many larger buildings get the steam from Con Edison. It's a bi--product of electrical generation from the turbines. Sometimes you see the steam rise from manhole covers in the street. There are steam pipes all over Manhattan.

  5. They have very high quality stuff. They're in different locations. Been around for over 20 years.
