  1. It's true in Blue and Red states. It's true in urban, suburban and rural areas. However NYC is up only slightly from its historic low crime level. It is dramatically reduced from Giuliani's best year and he likes to brag about how he reduced crime. He did, but it has kept going down since then under subsequent mayors.

  12. It's misleading. Crime is up in all parts of the country, including rural and suburban areas. The crime rate in NYC is only slightly higher than its historic low. Check the statistics online.
