  6. Clinton Airport? Cool! Palm Beach should name its after Obama. Maybe there is an airport in Ukraine that wants to use Trump's name. You can get the signs cheap since everyone is removing them from the condo buildings.

  8.  @biramdean683  My investments went way way up under Clinton and Obama. They crashed under Bush. They went up for a while under Trump. So what. Germany had a robust economy under Hitler. The US economy boomed under Eisenhower when the top tax rate was 95%. Money isn't everything. Trump was corrupt and he was corrupting US Democracy in too many ways to list here. He was bad for the country. Look at the mess he left. He was practically stoking another Civil War.

  11.  @SunnyDaysRFun  You don't read much. It is a commercial building not zoned as a residence. He gave it up as a residence because he couldn't afford it. That's why he got a license to run it as a Club/restaurant.

That means closing the Club and refunding the members deposits/fees and losing the income that is maintaining the property. This property has a monthly bill for water in the high five figures, among other costs. Trump also got a $5.7M tax deduction for restricting his deed to a conservation property to be used as a "club only". He would lose the deduction and owe the IRS money. It looks like Trump could not afford to do all that so he wants to live at the property and ignore the legal restrictions that he agreed to when he was given the club license and conservation tax break.

His property is zoned for commercial use as a club, so the taxes are much lower than most of the single family homes nearby. He can apply to change it. But then he can't run the club out of his home. The reason he changed it to a club from a residence in 1993 was he couldn't afford to maintain the home. When he applied for a club license he agreed to the restrictions. If he closes the club he will owe back the members their deposits and dues and he will have to give back the $5.7M tax deduction he got as a conservation property, that required to property to be used as a club only. He's to broke and too cheap. No real Palm Beach billionaire rents out his mansion so that strangers use his pool and eat in his dining room. His living quarters amount to a modest sized apartment. The members roam the rest of the place freely.
