@LowVoltage_FPV They should make checked baggage free but charge for carry-on. The carry-on people delay boarding. I have been flying internationally for decades. I check all of my luggage but bring a small carry-on. I have never lost a single bag.

Carry-ons dramatically delay boarding and deboarding. The airlines should charge for carry-ons and make checked baggae free. There would be fewer delays.

@Xhoven Once in a while there is an unusually long wait for the luggage. However, every time I fly I can't get on or off the plane without spending at least 20 minutes while people stuggle to get their life's belongings squeezed into someone else's overhead bin, dropping the bag on someone's head or asking for volunteers because the thing is too heavy to lift, or it's 4 seats down from their seat and want you to pass it (and things like that). And that's EVERY flight getting on and off. We arrive, the bell sounds, I stand up from my seat ready to just get off but instead get on a 20 minute line because no one in front of me is leaving-- they are trying to get their "carry on" luggage down. I'll take the occasional excessive delay instead.

@Xhoven I would simply make checked baggage free, like it used to be. Any carry on bigger than a brief case would cost a fee. No one is going to lug those 50 lb backpack, oversize things if it costs them $40 for the convenience of not waiting at the baggage claim. If you need to carry your cello or skateboard you will pay, but they will be the minority. You want to bring your rollaboard luggage so you can save time, even if it slows down others? Pay for that. Time saved boarding and disembarking will benefit everyone.

@oldtwinsna8347 Especially if you did not jam up the overhead bins with your luggage and you are ready to go
