  3. ​ @Gurfmanj  From my experience, this happens when kids who are "not too good at school" are just abandoned by the teachers. They put in the twelve years but learn very little except things like sports or shop class. They are never taught how to think logically, how to properly research facts (as in writing a paper) and they have almost no knowledge of American or world history, science, mathematics or really anything that requires some hard thinking and discipline. Even those students destined for non-intellectual career pursuits need to be taught the things needed to become good citizens and not fall for quack theories.
