@bluesy666 They only hypersonic in the high atmosphere then have to slow to supersonic speeds in the "thicker" low air.

@bluesy666 The more they change path the more they have to slow down, unpowered Glide Vehicles have no propulsion so the speed is totally lost. Pentagon have said that they track EVERY Kinzhal launch ( albeit a ballistic missile ) so the interceptors could be in no doubt where the incoming threat direction will be..... its the low flying cruise missile that would be a problem. Hypersonic missiles are just too overhyped at the moment for what they are. Calculations show that a regular ballistic missile fired on a on a depressed trajectory ( lower altitude ) can deliver the warhead with an equal or even SHORTER flight time than a hypersonic weapon over the same range.... rendering them pointless.
