Kinzhal is not a new hypersonic missile, its a ballistic missile fired on a “quasi-ballistic” trajectory, it moves but cannot perform any sort of "evasive manoeuvres " like a cruise missile can and only top at around Mach 7-8 .. the US had the exact same idea with the GAM-87 Skybolt back in the 1950s, so which hypersonic missile are you referring to ? You also say the US is 10 years behind, and yet Russia`s newest defence missiles cant cope with 25 year old ATACMS or Storm Shadow`s .... so how do you get that conclusion ?

  6. ​ @hansjorgkunde3772  Sorry to burst your little bubble but US done the same thing in 2006 with a AIM-54 Phoenix missile ! .... its nothing new. They also currently use the SM-3 Block 1A/B can do Mach 8.8, the Block IIA can do Mach 13.2.
