@fanech14 Putin actually wanted Russia to join NATO but didn't want to have to go through the usual application process ... he thought he would get it instantly !

@Grenadier311 Probably very nervous about it but Putin asked about Russia joining NATO with President Bill Clinton, and that Clinton said he had no objection. But Putin said "we’re not standing in line with a lot of countries that don’t matter" ...I guess that was that !
