  1. Where I come from,Providence, RI - it was a very walkable city. For example just down the block from where I lived was DePasquale Plaza. It was basically a blocked off street with a huge fountain in it. But all sorts of retail and restaurants. Yes Providence was a colonial city. Even Atwells Avenue was loaded with shops and restaurants.
