Well the U.S. is half in and half` out of metric. For exampe food stuffs have both measures. And a 20oz. bottle of liquid is approximately half a liter. But I wish we'd just go whole hog into it. Even the tires on my car, P20570R16 - the last two are the wheel in inches but the rest is the tire dimensions. And I can switch the Driver Information Center from English to Metric easily.

Well the methane is nothing but what, natural gas - so re-burn it, capture the carbon, put it down in the earth, extract the methane again and again. : ) And convert the motor vehicles to electric - that requires direct government subsidies and tax breaks.

One other thing, keep in mind rf power falls off at the square of the distance. So there't that too.

Interesting, where I live they built a huge pumping system and a way to close of the bay during storms. The pumps can eject a million gallons of water per minute.

Consider if you will the U.S. Navy has pretty much perfected nuclear power. So the question is could the private industry maintain the same level of safety in nuclear reactors as the U.S. Navy? I suspect not when profit is involved.
