  1. Actually on a Windows box - if you just use a bootable USB stick to boot Linux and then attached the new drive - just dd it. But one place I worked - they gave the I.T. people MacBooks - which when went to AD you cannot admin AD from a Mac OS-X machine. Went with Dell Latitude 7470's. Those let us RDP and even do AD work.
