When we first got together my father wasn't on board. As you can see from my profile pic I am Italian-American. The man I've now been with for 26 years is black, well more accurately a very cute brown. But all of the people who could disapprove they're dead now.

I will say Venezuela has been a mess for decades. I once worked with a woman from Venezuela. She naturalized as a U.S. citizen but she would tell me stories of what went on there. It's appalling.

The landlord is lying through her teeth. I'll explain - we live in a building that is 117 years old. Granted it's not in Manhattan but the age of the building has nothing to do with it. So with that in mind, a pox against the landlord.

I'm partially deaf in that my eardrums started retracting. So mine is actually a mechanical issue in the ear - the nerves are still fine. A set of headphones solves most of it. But I'm glad the technology is improving. In fact I can see where the hardware for cochlear implants will get smaller and smaller. And power - what if just blood pumping could spin a turbine and keep the unit charged?

What I find fascinating about all of this. Humanity goes through patterns - first we see it with the naked eye, then we invent technology to see it better and better. Then we develop technology to put men there. Earth's Moon is a perfect example, so too Mars and the planets in our solar system.

This is why the thought occurred to me: Citizen review boards are one thing but each AG or DA needs prosecutors in their offices where they do not handle anything but police misconduct. That way there's no relationship to police.

This is why I consider all religions poisonous. Because if you read the Christian texts the very same prohibitions are there. It's true.

Funny how Greenland is full of snow and ice, while Iceland is much greener. And that much snow and ice - nope. But then I guess if it's the only thing you know. And funny how the population is mostly Asian - just like what happened to the 20 million here in the U.S. before European settlers were the first to use germ warfare.

I suppose I should thank my mom, she was the one who started me in Catholic schools. Sadly though she died my freshman year of high school, a Catholic high school too. And one year for religion class we read the Bible, not only read but learned of things about copy error, translation error and editorializing by scribes. I knew something was wrong when I did my first communion. But didn't have the words to put to it. Fast forward 8 years and it's confirmation time - told the priest I didn't get the faith thing. They confirmed me anyhow. Best part is when they went recruiting for the priesthood and brotherhood. Priest I sat down with I looked at him and said "Is celibacy still a requirement because if so I have no interest."

First let me say I'm of Italian ancestry. And I know how society treated Italians in the early part of the 20th century. So I fully understand the frustration the Puerto Rican community had with society too. And that's also why I say immigration is the life blood of this country. Always has been, always will be.

If you think about it just go to the cargo cults that exist in the Pacific. I think a lot of us are pre-wired so to speak to believe in something. I didn't get wired for that.

Where I live the Blue Line is a subway that serves government center and other points.

Jared D All depends on the level of commitment. Like I said that cute guy I met 26 years ago is now my spouse and I'm happy about that. Hopefully those two guys will be able to keep it together.

@georgplaz Yeah I know.

First let me say I find the use of police and military against the people of the United States highly abhorrent.
7
Who can be a candidate - well I can answer - anyone who is crazy enough. :)

You know I understand how cops get away with this. But I am in the camp that says eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The cop should have faced summary execution.

In RI since the 1980's it's been a paper ballot - that gets fed to a scanner. They've changed out the scanners of course but the ballots are still preserved.

The thing that stands out to me is that they mostly seem to be children of GI's with Korean women. That part is very interesting.
3
@amacuro Indeed - I do not side with Maduro and wish the people of Venezuela the best.
3
Ah, classic small business versus cartels. It never plays out well.
2
There is that - however if you have good legal representation you can stop flippers dead in their tracks.
2
I've been involved in electrical and networking.
2
Yeah and they don't sell Peugots and Renaults in the U.S. anymore.
2
Actually my grandfathers served in the Pacific and European theaters during WW II and came back with no injuries.
2
I am fascinated by the ancestor worship in Japan. And yes he is a good father and son.
2
@Mauro_Veliz Thank you. And yeah - I'm a bit more in touch with views on Lain America, Central America and South America in general. It's why I chose to focus on learning the Spanish language.
2
@JK-gu3tl Anarchy isn't pretty either.
2
@JK-gu3tl You may want to elaborate on your question of how I would know.
2
Nope - that's one thing I'm stedfast about is drinking and driving. I won't do it.
2
I can clearly see this is a revolution for Hong Kong and I wish them sovereignty from China.

Strike the U.S. and I can pretty much guarantee that Pyongyang will be a nuclear wasteland. We can loft a nuke at them in less than 30 minutes.
1
@alostsoul6321 Just saying I've worked with navy nukes and am aware of the weaponry on ballistic missile submarines.

It also demonstrates that you have to be very careful questioning I.T. people. I should know I'm one of them. It's the Xerox machine.

If you think about it the big issue is just having two political parties. It's easier for those with money to get the best government their money can buy. I want something more like Italy, or Germany - where there's 40 parties and you govern by coalition. And just two parties means it's relatively inexpensive to buy our politicians. But with 40 or 50 it gets to be expensive and you aren't guaranteed to have your way.

These devices will prevail until bodies start racking up.

Yeah well - I would remind the French if it weren't for the U.S. and Russia they'd all be speaking German. And Renault is still in the U.S. - they own Nissan.
1
You know it doesn't surprise me - the Catholic church is rife with stories of abuse. They've tried their damndest to deny it but they've killed more people than the alleged devil has ever killed.

Yep

Some music I've bought - and yes I used Napster back then. Some music I get through oh I don't know other means. Now of course what I buy is on Amazon - if for example I give a CD to someone as a gift Amazon is nice enough to stuff the songs into my Amazon Music library. And iTunes - yeah I used it but I chafed at the DRM on the songs. Luckily I broke away from that piece of crap software.

Well there's actually 5 lines in Boston - Red, Orange, Green, Blue and Silver. Then there's commuter rail - which comes from points north and south of Boston. Furthest southern point is Wickford section of North Kingstown, RI.

All I know is my spouse spent a little time in a hosptial and picked up a C. Diff infection. No tests but the Doctor was aware of the symptoms and prescribed anti-biotic and anti-fungal. Cleared up the C. Diff.
1
@Mar Well in the case of the hospital they had signs all over the place warning to wash hands etc. But I noted most if not all staff didn't wash, they instead grabbed a pair of gloves. With their bare hands. And they didn't have the spouse on any antibiotics - they had him on BP lowering medication.

@indicanolan No doubt about that. And women will always be women. In fact I see it as we have more in common with each other be it male/female, America/Korean/Russian/Chinese etc. than difference.
1
This is fantastic work. I'm sure the Russians are going to try to cover this up but success will be elusive.

Something similar happened in Providence and Cranston, RI in 2010. Particularly the Valley section of Providence near the Woonasquatucket. You see 10 days of consistent rain managed to flood the states main drinking water reservoir. The reservoirs spillways dumped into, you guessed it the Woonasquatucket river. Took out a bunch of bridges, water up to the roof line particularly in western Cranston. It was bad.

I've misplaced my dice so I wrote a python app that does dice rolls depending on number of sides on the die. Here's the code: def diceroll(): print("Enter number of die sides") s=int(input("Number of sides:")) print("You rolled:") print (randint(1,s)) return()
