@Blowb666 The building got hit by the landing gear of one of the planes, that's close enough for me to consider this one hell of a distasteful display of religious callousness.

@Blowb666 I'm not against mosques in general and mosques in New York. But to use your analogy, yes, I would find building a church right next to the Olympic Park a vile thing to do. Does not mean they shouldn't be building churches somewhere else in Atlanta. And let's not get complete the circel by saying the mosque isn't right next to ground zero. It is. It got hit by the plane parts, even the organisers of the mosque say they specifically picked the space because of it's proximity.

@Blowb666 If a place was bombed in the name of Christianity then it would be equally insensitive to build a church near that site.

@Blowb666 Thanks, consistency means a lot to me. I think these people have the same rights as anyone else and should be allowed to build their mosque there. I think that's an important distinction to make, what is appropriate or not, is a different issue than what should be legal or not. I support their rights and at the same time I find this project vile and offensive. I really hope that gay bar gets there as soon as possible.
