  1. We're now at a point where at least the people who recognise that the birth rates have become an existential threat are blaming their political adversaries for it. Conservatives blame progressives for feminism and decadency, and progressives blame conservatives for austerity and the housing crisis forcing people out of parenthood (bit of a chip on their shoulder imho). But nobody is laying out a plan for what would get women to start having over 2.1 children again.
