However, if you install it in the developing world cleaner energy will avoid more dirty energy being that would be placed instead of it. The question that usually follows from that is 'why should I care about increasing the living standard of other countries'. And to that the answer would be that an increase in living standard directly drives the decrease of fertility rate per women. They have fewer children and at a later point in their lives which rapidly curbs our population growth and therefore our global emissions which, finally, benefit you more than trying to marginally improve a country that is already well on it's way towards becoming a greener economy.
