@anti-emo4721 this isn't about the piece of paper you get at the end of the education, it's about the costs of the education itself. People could go to uni, spend three or four years partying and then leave the tax-payer to pick up the tab. Meanwhile universities have no obligation to prepare students for getting an actual career as they're the ones receiving the massive payment.

@anti-emo4721 The government is doing the student loans. Student loans are also the only loans that can't be nullified through a bankruptcy. They stay with people forever.

@zenosgrasshopper going to college costs a ton money regardless of your academic performance. It's the people who leave college without the means to earn a living that will be in debt for life, not even bankruptcy can get them out of that.

The correct answer for student loans is "make them dischargeable in bankruptcy, but have the university eat the loss rather the lender" It's 'no cure, no pay' but for universities. If they're unable to prepare their graduates for a job, then the graduate can file for bankruptcy, which destroys their credit but also costs the university everything. This will make the university think twice about offering bullshit degrees because they'll be the ones that will have to pay for the failure they create.
