  1. I love the idea behind it. BUT there's also a trap in that a parent can make themselves irrelevant by simply setting the standards for their child's ambition very low. You can give the same child independency in a dull, mundane life or push your child to be more but one who still needs help at times. There's a balance to be struck there.
