  1. I had dyslexia diagnosed late in adulthood. The reason it was discovered late was that I simply loved reading even though I struggled with it. I was quickly done with a rather sizable school library at some point and demanded more. Children do have an innate ability to teach themselves to read, it's called curiosity.
