  2.  @billtmarchi4320  Putin is invading because the Ukraine government is marginalizing the Russian demographic living in the country. Not being able to look out for 'his' people makes him look weak back at home and an autocrat can't afford to look weak.

  4. ​ @razeezar  I've already seen plenty of people refer to the last time the Russians invaded Berlin, usually when they're promoting the need for a EU army. Occupying a people against their will is expensive, it exposes a country to endless guerilla warfare from insurgents. That's why countries, at least the ones who are more sensible than the US, aren't seeking to annex territory anymore. It has no benefit to them.
