  1. Carbondioxide aphyxiation slaughering of pigs is a brutal and terrible way to kill an animal. CO2 triggers a primal fear and pain in mammal and these animals die screaming and thrashing around. This is avoidable. Nitrogen foam slaughtering achieves the same result (a dead pig) but instead of pain and fear the animal just becomes drowsy and falls asleep amidst a pile of foam. The difference is enormous but becauses carbondioxide slaughtering is slightly more efficient to process at scale the pigs meet this horrible fate.
