  2. The Freedom of Information Act is one of our last barriers against full blown corruption. The communication of public officials isn't a private affair, it's public property. It needs to be open to press and public inspection to make sure politicians aren't putting public influence up for sale. She went out of her way to keep her emails from ever getting into the hands of the public. That's what the server was for, that's why the servers got wiped with Bleachbit and her devices destroyed with hammers after they got subpoena'd. Her taking classified information outside confidential channels is just icing on a much more nefarious cake. People keep are talking about security while they ought to be talking about the obstruction of one of the only measures that keep us protected against full-blown corruption. If making the FOIA or other acts that are countering corruption obsolete isn't illegal then it definitely should be. Why out of all people journalists, those who the FOIA was meant for in the first place, are suddenly okay with being deliberately stonewalled by Clinton, and instead are cheering her on towards her election truly blows my mind.
