  1. CBDC's are software. Software that can be programmed to be anything. Any rule the government conceived can be baked into the money you rely upon. A liberal government would show restraint, but whatever comes next surely won't.

  2.  @rap3208  The CBDC allows the government to be more subtle about it. Freezing protestor's bank accounts is a ham-fisted move that will make a government lose power if done repeatedly. But how about adding a negative interest rate to anyone caught protesting? Anything subtle, with the mere threat of it being sufficient to keep people in line.
