The globalization discussion 28:04 was weak. Globalisation isn't just about trade, it's also about governance. The locus of power keeps being scaled upwards, away from the grasp of local or even national elections. People are losing their grip and wealthy oligarchs are able to leverage entire nations through UN bodies and NGO's. It benefits wealth and skillful people who can quickly navigate the globe and move wherever the money goes, leaving the poor grounded in drained economies. By focusing on global trade alone, Pakman is arguing on behalf of the plutocrats and he doesn't even have to acknowledge it. Convenient.

@conr2141 He redefines globalism as 'free trade', which is a narrow subset of the entire topic of globalism. Though for the sake of fairness, this is also on the Triggerguys for letting him define the discussion in such a cheap way.

@conr2141 Yes I consider this mainly a failure on the triggerguys, but Pakman was eager to get away with this motte and bailey.

@conr2141 Borders are hurdle to the poor, not to the rich. Pakman knows that. And if he doesn't then he just fell for the ancap frame of globalising. So pick one, he's either stupid or he doesn't care about equality.
