  1. You're conflating the EU with current EU policy. EU policy is always subject to change. The coalition agreement specifically states that the Netherlands seeks to change the current EU immigration through coordination with the other member states rather than rile against it. That's what the EU was originally meant for. To state that seeking change through the formal processes puts one at odds with the EU just goes to show how deep the rot has crept.
