Humans live twice as long as other apes. This lifespan skyrocketed around the time we invented agriculture. This leads me to believe that as soon as we developed the resources to sustain a harem-like culture an immediate evolutionary pressure for longevity arose. A warlord that was genetically predisposed to live longer would drastically increase the number of children compared to one that didn't (and whom's harem would be adopted by the next). This is a genetic trait passed down through the father line as mothers couldn't benefit from having a harem of men due to her hard limit on the amount of children she's able to have. In other words male polyamory is what's making us live longer today. We're all children of elderly chads.
