Well yeah. Darwinism doesn't say much to me. It's 'ism' implies it's some kind of ideology. I can base an ideology on evolution but evolution itself isn't an ideology.

You're avoiding the question.
1
Indeed, micro-and macro evolution are therms abused by creationists. They're both the same thing.
1
I´m not religious in any way. I care about the theory of evolution and you clearly misunderstood the implications of evolution. Trying to pull values and morales out of evolution, like your homophobia, is like trying to get the out of the theory of gravity. You´re stuck in frame of thought that should have been abandoned one century ago.
1
Of course I don't. But if you have to resort to beating strawmen I guess it concludes the dialogue. One day you'll find that evolution, just like religion, just like everything else has no intrinsic meaning. Homosexuality has no meaning and certainly your homophobia has no meaning. And here by your fear induced trolling has no meaning. Have a nice day.

Isn't that just another sky-hook Dennett so frequently talks about mr SWC?
1
What is your problem with homosexuality?
1
@SWC. You seem to confuse evolution with a form of darwinism (which he would turn in his grave for if he heared the definition). Evolution has no ideals, it's a blind process. You're the one who finds it a fetish, now that feeling and stance can have evolutionary causes but it's not evolution itself that idealises it.
1
Evolution is NOT A LAW. You, Sir, are a social darwinist. One of the creepy kind. Evolution just happens. There's nothing that should or shouldn't be done. Evolution is not a path that should or shouldn't be walked. If homosexuality is wrong because it 'defies' evolution, then are space shuttles wrong because they defy gravity? You really should start to get that twisted view out of your head. Many nasty things have happened because people interpreted evolution as a law.
1
Absolutely. You seem to think evolution is a law to follow. You treat evolution like a deity in that way, you're the religious nutter here. Evolution does not forbid homosexuality, in fact evolution doesn't forbid anything at all, nor does it promote anything. It's completely neutral towards anything.
1
You're clearly ranting, which is a shame as it's in such a stark contrast with Dennett's beautiful presentation. You don't need hetero sex to procreate, look at some brilliant fruits of evolution, bacteria, worms, algae, moss, these creatures will inhabit this planet long after we've become extinct. We ourselves have now even reached a point where hetero sex is no longer needed in order to procreate. Ever thought about that? And even then evolution is not a goal like gravity is not a goal.
1
Satanism? Yes absolutely. But it would be far more interesting for this kind of education to venture past the Abrahamic religions.

Being gay is not a fetish. Before a child is born, a baby boy is to receive a testosterone spike that sculpts the brain slightly into a male version. Research is being done now and it deserves more research, but neurologists already found that the brains of a gay person are different then a heterosexual one. It would indeed explain why they usually have a slightly higher IQ as well.
1
I know it does. However to imply that evolution is more then inheritance and natural selection, to imply that it condones or promotes certain things in life, is just another religion. SirWinstonChurchill clearly has a problem with gay people because they don't procreate and thus don't abide "the rules" of evolution which is just complete bollocks. Being gay is neither good nor bad. You can't conjure values from evolution like that.
1
Evolution is a descriptive law, not a prescriptive law. If you think that, you're no better then any other religious nutter with the addition that you give us atheists a bad name, you're not an atheist you take on faith that evolution is something to be obeyed.
