Comments by "Trazyn" (@Trazynn) on "Al Gore: Alarming new slides of the worsening climate crisis" video.
Current estimates are already exceeding our worst case scenario.

And for these people who say the global climate moves in cycles, you're right. But according to the cyclical trend, we're supposed to be at the start of a period of cooling right now, look at that the global warming is so dire it's countering NATURAL trends.

He did play a significant role in the development. You're trying to spread myths here.

What attacks? Has anyone been attacked over global warming yet? Excuse me, but it's are the religious nut jobs that are siding against the warnings of global warming. Pigsblood is an excellent example of how pure ignorance can fuck over humanity.

Vincent Cerf, (if there would be an inventor of the internet, then that would be him) said: "The Internet would not be where it is in the United States without the strong support given to it and related research areas by the Vice President (Al Gore) in his current role and in his earlier role as Senator."

If anything, fusion is, (if it works), a way of combating the energy crisis, not the climate one. People often forget that the knife cuts in two ways here. Reducing the carbon emissions is not only clean, it also saves allot of energy which we already have a huge shortage of.
1
Humankind's ability to turn any warning into a conspiracy theory will make it stagnate into complete apathy.

Can't believe people still come up with 'The great global warming swindle' That movie has been trashed to pulp years ago. Wilful ignorance anyone?

I define responsibility as maximising all externalities that come with our global economy. That includes the carbon emissions. Carbon tax is an example of that. You're paying directly for the damage you do. And guess what, it's the companies that adapted that are actually profiting more then before the tax. Thanks to this new urge they've been reviewing their production lines and made them more efficient and cleaner, saving lots of money on that.
1
Free trade is only effective if the externalities (like global warming) are being maximized in the model.
1
Nuclear power plants have a very low netto energy gain. Subtract the dismantling and processing of the waste and you'll see that there won't be much left in the long therm.
1
Ramon 1710, that shows exactly how informed you are. The sea water only rises by melting ice for a small amount. The main contributor to rising sea levels is the expansion of water due to the rising temperature (caused by US) How can we take people like you even seriously?
1
Ramon1710, you're the one spreading lies here. Al Gore never claimed he invented the internet. He really said that he supported the development of the internet, which is a plain FACT. The idea that he claimed to have invented the internet is a really old myth, i can't believe you dare to bring it up again.
1
Indeed, it's not like we will die from the heat, the problem lies in flooding, droughts, storms and lessened biodiversity.
1
So much wishful thinking in these comments. Denying global warming won't make it go away, within the next decennia we will experience considerable consequences because of this event.
1
The cold winter and spring have been predicted by the same climatologists who are warning for the climate change now. spikes in the climate trend will always happen.
1
The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is now 380 parts-per-million (ppm), 100 ppm higher than at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.
1
Oh there we go again, another religious nutter that puts the faith of the world in the hands of his imaginary friend. Suppose god did actually exist, wasn't it him who told humanity to take care of this planet? Did you even read the Bible?
1
Aw how cute Ramon1710, look at the shapes in which you bend yourself in order to interpret his words like you wanted to. Gore did EXACTLY what he said and contributed al lot to he birth of the internet. And it's blatantly obvious that we're contributing a huge deal towards global warming. People like you are just clutching at straws.
1
Indeed, it's not the Earth's problem that it's heating up, on the long therm it's a small effect. It's just that the fast climate change (and it's truly faster then any natural cycle could ever achieve) is disastrous for humanity. We rely way too much on a stable climate for this too happen.
1
Boratya, that's indeed the case if we only stop exhausting carbon. Well, at least the temperature won't be increasing exponentially any more. However, next to that, deforestation is another big factor as it robs the earth from it's own natural way of dealing with carbon. Thanks to the increased carbon concentration in the air the trees are actually growing faster and forests would expand if we didn't cut them so rapidly. You're right in that cutting carbon emissions isn't enough.
1
There you go again, just drop all responsibility. We are contributing a GREAT DEAL to the carbon in our atmosphere, not only trough exhausts, we're also destroying earth's natural ability to fix carbon back into the ground by heavy deforestation. Good news for you, digging your head in the sand will get even more easy with the rapid expansion of our deserts.
1
Simply making the carbon tax tradable solves that problem. If you, as a company, manage to reduce the carbon emissions in a developed country, which is very cheap as there isn't much needed to drop their emissions by a great deal, you can subtract that from your own emissions. The challenge we face right now is letting the developing nations cut trough the kutznetz curve so they won't have to go trough a whole industrial revolution before they reach our standard of technology.

@ Ramon1710 You called him a liar, while he exactly did what he sad. Point still stands, without Al Gore you and I wouldn't be having this discussion.
