  1. Let's assume we innovated our technology to super sci-fi levels where we purely communicated on binaural nano-fields or whatever. Then STILL we wouldn't be searching other planets for that kind of communication, we'd be smart enough to test for all kinds of signs, starting with basic radio waves up to very advanced levels. Clearly an alien civilization would have that same presence of mind to succumb to such a basic oversight.
