  1. Philip De Franco started this trend in 2006. It's just a cheap way to produce videos because the quick cuts allow you to quickly remove all the mistakes without too many retries. He then started exaggerating it as the more you do it, the more quirky and witty you look. What we have today is just the logical product of 16 years of people evolving this method.
