  1. Third person limited is the most difficult way to write but also the most immersive form of storytelling. It forces the writer to abide by the 'show don't tell' principle and it gives the opportunity to play with the character's idea of another character rather than an accurate depiction of the other character. When the book then varies this point of view each chapter you get a beautiful and emotional puzzle that the reader gets to put together. Frank Herbert discared all of that to convey prescience and complicated political drama better. An acceptable trade-off, but it still makes third-person unlimited an inferior writing style.
